Destiny for Zambian Youths

Destiny for Zambian Youths is a Christian youth organisation whose mission is to equip young people in their community to discover and attain their God-given destiny, inspired by Jeremiah 1:1–5.

Founded in 2014 by Pastor James Phiri, Destiny operates a soccer academy as an outreach tool to engage children and youth who have a passion for sport. They also run a youth chapel that meets every Friday.

As an academy, Destiny has several teams: boys’ U12, U15, and U20, as well as a girls’ U17 team. The U15 boys compete in the district league, while the U20s are currently playing friendly matches at provincial level in preparation for joining the provincial league next season. The girls’ team also participates in friendly matches.

Their objectives are:

  1. To teach youths to be God-fearing and morally upright

  2. To provide a strong foundation for future marriages

  3. To help youths discover and pursue their God-given vision

  4. To support sports development within the community

Destiny also runs a community school in Chichele under the Supporting Education Act. They are grateful to God that the school is welcoming back four boys who had been out of school due to financial challenges.

Their goals for this year include entering the U20 team into the provincial league and launching an income‑generating project to help sustain the school and support the academy’s transport needs.

Looking ahead, they hope to establish a clubhouse where players can be accommodated as they grow into responsible adults, professional footballers, and productive farmers.

Destiny is run full‑time by the Phiri family.
